The nights are drawing in quickly now and it’s damp and cold outside so there’s no better time to enjoy a super healthy bedtime toddy. While the milk is soothing, aiding relaxation and sleep, the mixture of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and cloves gently warms you from the inside out. But not only that, the turmeric (aided by the black pepper) is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.
So when it’s a bit miserable outside, you’re feeling a bit under-the-weather and you need to cheer yourself up give yourself some love with this ‘hug in a mug’
1 mug of dairy-free milk of choice (almond, oat, rice, soya)
3x cardamom pods – crushed
1 small cinnamon stick
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp turmeric
pinch black pepper
Add your milk to a saucepan with the spices.
Simmer on a low heat for approx 10-15 minutes.
Add honey at the end if you prefer more sweetness.
